Communion Every Sunday
Four years ago, as we were launching LIFEChurch, we were very conscious about inviting others to join our new church. It was felt that communion might be a barrier to new folks because they might not understand the significance. We did not want communion to become a barrier for them in their search to know Jesus Christ. Since our retreat this past June, our focus has been more specifically identified as continuing the mission of Jesus and not just about “attracting” others. Participating in communion strengthens us spiritually so that we are able to fulfill our core values and Jesus’ mission: Love God, Love Others and Serve Everyone. Communion reminds us each week that “Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us.” It is only by the Grace of God that we have life.
We, therefore, will be celebrating communion every Sunday beginning this August. Communion will continue to be a part of each LIFEGroup, at the leader’s discretion.
