This year, we explored current attitudes of sex and dating expressed in the movie: 50 Shades of Grey, a romantic movie, right?
• What kind of girls/guys do guys/girls like?
• Free choice makes it okay, right?
• Isn’t sexual experimentation okay?
• What is healthy in a relationship?
Laura Braziel, M.M.F.T., LPC, LMFT is a young, professional counselor from the Houston Center for Christian Counseling in Sugar Land. She has a heart and passion for youth and is excited to speak, discuss and interact with our students at this event. This is a great opportunity for you and your young adult to be informed.
I hope you’ll do everything you can to see that you and your teen (and their friends) attend this one time event. Teenagers make life-changing decisions during these years. Through the years, we’ve observed that guiding teens is much easier when parents are on the same page. So, invite your teen’s friend’s parents too. The kids your teen runs with influence your teen—so their involvement in this course will make your job as parents much easier.
Sex, God & Me is a biblically based course with Jesus Christ as the foundation. Our goal is to encourage parent/teen communication on sexual matters, rely on the power of prayer to help us through these matters and provide a forum for discussion of sexual behavior.
