Guatemalan Mission Trip Packing Party

Sunday, July 11, 2010, 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM

Lunch & Packing Party for the mission team and families will be at the home of Marcia McGinnis & Steve Roche, after the LIFEChurch Mission Team "Commissioning" and Worship Service, beginning at about 12:30pm. Bring your bathing suits and towels, if you wish, to cool off after lunch and packing.

Each traveler will be given 2 luggage tags - one for checked luggage, one for carry-on. These are very useful in Guatemala when we're trying to sort out our stuff from all the other travelers at the airport and at the hotel.

Team members are asked to consider packing personal items in carry-on, with the exception of large (over 3 oz.) liquid containers, shavers, nail clippers, tweezers or pocket knives they could put in a smaller bag and pack inside a donations trunk. If a traveler plans on "donating" their checked piece for donations, thank you! If a traveler has an extra, large bag for donations, bring it to the party for packing. Another option would be to take in-kind donations home after the packing party to pack in personal luggage, and bring to load on the airport shuttle bus on travel day. All in-kind donations (medicines, kids' shoes, vitamins, etc.) end up in one hotel "donations central" room for scavenging during the week.

Any questions? Contact Marcia McGinnis at  or 281.684.9741.
