F.A.Q.'s

What do I wear?
Come as you are. We care about you -- not what you wear. People wear all kinds of styles. One thing you won't find much of around here - ties. Guys you can leave your ties at home. Come comfortable.

How much does it cost to go to LIFEChurch?
Nothing. We do have an offering every week, but it's not for people who are checking out the church. LIFEChurch Fort Bend is supported financially by the people who have chosen to make it their church home. You won't find us trying to squeeze cash out of you every time you walk through the door. Giving should never flow out of compulsion or guilt.

Why do church in a non-traditional way?
Absolutely nothing is wrong with traditional churches. People need to worship in places that meet their needs and speak their language, as well as places that will give them a strong foundation in faith. Every culture and generation must take the timeless truths of the Bible and seek to communicate them in a way that connects with people. Our goal is not to be different for different sake but to present God's love to the people in this community in ways that speak to them. That's why at times in our services you may experience the message as much through the music or videos as through the speaker.

Why do you make such a big deal about getting into a small group?
Because we believe that's where your life is going to change the most. That's where you are going to grow. When you can get together regularly with the same group of people where you are known, loved, celebrated, and served, that's when you are really experiencing church the way Jesus intended it. You will miss out on the most exciting part of Life Church Fort Bend if you never even check out a small group.

What is a non-denominational church?
Being an independent, non-denominational Christian church simply means that we are not a member of a particular denomination such as Baptist, Episcopal, Lutheran, Catholic, Methodist, etc. It doesn't mean that we are anti-denominational. In fact, those who come to LIFEChurch Fort Bend come from every denomination imaginable. Because we are an independent, non-denominational church we choose to use our resources to serve the people living in Sugar Land, Richmond and Rosenberg, and the mission field instead of supporting a disconnected national organization.

We are members of the Willow Creek Association of churches, an inter-denominational organization of thousands of churches around the world committed to using innovative ways to reach people who don't go to church. LIFEChurch leaders make all decisions about our church. An independent audit of all financial matters is performed every year, and all books are open to anyone who inquires.

Do I need to be baptized?
Jesus himself gave baptism to the Christian Church. It is a means by which we are officially joined to Him and His mission to reach the world. Baptism is the way we publicly acknowledge Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our life.

Do I need to be re-baptized?
If you have been baptized in another Christian denomination or baptized as a child you do not have to be re-baptized. You can choose to re-affirm your commitment to Jesus, but it isn't necessary to be re-baptized unless you choose to do so.

What about infants or children being baptized?
It's tough to be a kid these days. The only thing tougher might be being a parent. So where do you start? What do you do? LIFEChurch Fort Bend partners with parents in taking the first step toward leading their child to become a fully devoted Christ-follower. This is accomplished through a baptism experience where parents come before the church to commit to raise their child in a way that points toward Christ. As they make this commitment the LIFEChurch family pledges support in the area of parenthood.
