Our Story
All Churches are born out of God intersecting with human experiences. LIFEChurch Fort Bend is no exception.
Mike's walk with God.
Mike Baker, the lead pastor of LIFEChurch was raised in the Baptist Church and felt called by God at age 16. When he joined the Episcopal Church his old call to ordained ministry returned. After 25 years of being ordained, Pastor Mike decided he could no longer continue supporting the decisions and direction of the Episcopal Church without compromising his relationship with his savior, Jesus Christ. He resigned September, 2006. The American Episcopal Church chose to follow a course that contradicts Scripture, five thousand years of tradition and sound family values.
The LIFEChurch Story
The following week over 85 adults, attended the first organizational meeting of what was to become a new church plant in Sugar Land. LIFEChurch Fort Bend was born. It is our vision to become a biblically functioning community, with relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer and compassionate care for those in need.
This is our goal—the ongoing miracle of people being revolutionized by Christ. It makes our heart beat fast.
So whether you're a spiritual seeker who's just starting to ask questions about God or a committed Christian who wants to sink your roots of faith even deeper, you can find a home here at LIFEChurch Fort Bend.
